Calahonda is more like a small town and offers every amenity to the residents. There are commercial centres with supermarkets, banks, restaurants, shops and bars and a large array of sports facilities including a gym as well as tennis, padel tennis and squash courts, and water sports available on the beach. Calahonda is a short distance from the marina of Cabopino, were there are more restaurants, bars and great sandy beaches to be found, as well as the pleasure of gazing at the yachts and boats.
It couldn´t be easier to get out and about in Calahonda as there is a bus which picks up and drops off in various parts of Sitio de Calahonda and then stops and picks up in La Cala de Mijas and also the Miramar shopping centre in Fuengirola.
